LCLAA Bids Executive Director Hector Sanchez Barba Farewell

Washington D.C.- After over a decade of leading the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA), as our Executive Director, Hector Sdanchez Barba is leaving LCLAA. As he embarks on a new and exciting chapter of his professional life, the LCLAA family would like to extend our most sincere appreciation for his outstanding service and unwavering commitment.
During these past years, our organization has successfully engaged in a series of campaigns, focused on issues that affect our sisters and brothers, mobilizing and advocating for an agenda capable of making significant headway on the quality of life of Latino working families across our nation. Hector has passionately led LCLAA in these efforts, effectively shedding light on the issues our communities face, as well as on our advocacy work. Today we thank Hector for his leadership, commitment and guidance, and wish him success in all future endeavors.
Moving forward, LACLAA has appointed Karla Pineda-Santos as Interim Executive Director to lead our organization. Mrs. Pineda-Santos has been a part of the LCLAA family for 15 years. She became LCLAA’s Director of Operations ten years ago, a position from which she has successfully developed the planning and execution of some of the most key projects, campaigns as well as events held by the LCLAA. Mrs. Pineda-Santos’ passion for working closely with our chapters and members has greatly contributed to the overall growth of LCLAA. We congratulate Mrs. Pineda-Santos on her new role as LCLAA’s Interim Executive Director!
“For the past ten years Hector has led LCLAA with passion and tenacity. We have marched down the streets of Washington D.C. and through the halls of Congress, advocating for the rights of Latino working families. I wish him the best of luck in this new chapter of his professional life,” said Yanira Merino, LCLAA National President. “I would also like to welcome our sister, Karla Pineda-Santos, who will be serving as LCLAA’s Interim Executive Director. Her vast experience with the labor movement and her commitment to our organization are fundamental to the growth of LCLAA and hence to the well-being of our community. I look forward to working closely with you, as you take on this new role.”
