Dear LCLAA Members and Allies,

lclaa president yanira merinoOn behalf of the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA), I write to invite you to join us for our 2019 National Conference being held at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing on August 15-17.

Our 2018 National Membership Convention in Puerto Rico was a great success and we want to carry that momentum forward. Last year was a propitious year as the island was facing a fiscal shortfall, extensive infrastructure issues and public health crises after the damages caused by Hurricane Maria. Together we marched and stood in unity and solidarity with our sisters and brothers.

This year’s conference will be a power-building gathering that will bring together Latino, labor and community leaders from across the country to strategize about the challenges and opportunities for Latino workers such as the 2020 Census and Elections, the attacks on organized labor with such laws as the “right to work”, Immigration Reform, Healthcare, Education, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, Women’s Rights, and Civic Participation.

LCLAA’s strength lies not only in our work nationally, but also in the advocacy work that our chapters do across the country. Increasing our grassroots organizing capacity and engaging our members to take action in their communities is one of our most important priorities. LCLAA’s National Conference is an opportunity to highlight the important work we have been doing on behalf of Latino and immigrant workers and to recognize our chapters and members whose work has been instrumental in addressing the issues and meeting the needs of the Latino community.

We sincerely hope to count on your participation at this very important Conference.

Thank you very much for your support, we are looking forward to seeing you in Philadelphia.

In Solidarity,

    Dear Supporters and Allies,

On behalf of the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA), I write to invite you to participate as a sponsor of our 2019 National Conference being held at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing on August 15-17.

For 47 years, LCLAA has stood at the forefront of workers’ rights, civil rights, economic justice, and the right to organize at the workplace free of intimidation. LCLAA works to advance policies that will improve the quality of life for millions of working families across the United States. These policies protect workers and their families while making our communities just, safe, and prosperous places to live and work in. The importance of LCLAA’s work as the voice for Latino workers is imperative at this crucial time, and so is the support of partners like you. Your support will provide LCLAA the resources necessary to accomplish its mission and continue to advocate for our community.

LCLAA’s strength lies not only in our work nationally, but also in the advocacy work that our chapters do across the country. Increasing our grassroots organizing capacity and engaging our members to take action in their communities is one of our most important priorities.
