Dear Sisters and Brothers,

milton rosadoIt gives me great pleasure to invite you on behalf of our National Executive Board to Washington, D.C. to attend LCLAA’s National Latino Workers Conference and 45th Anniversary Awards Gala on September 6 and 7, 2017.

Our 2016 National Membership Convention in Florida was a great success and we want to carry that momentum forward.  Last year was a propitious year in terms of building advocacy in the Latino community.  We marched on behalf of our brothers and sisters who have no voice, we registered new voters across the country, and helped turn out Latino voters to the polls  in greater numbers than ever before.

This year’s conference will feature action-oriented trainings, workshops, and an advocacy day.  This will be a power-building gathering that will connect the dots between the movements for justice that are now pushing back those who are determined to roll back the rights of our communities. From immigration, to women’s rights, to labor rights, to civic participation, and the right to a healthy environment, we will have trainings and strategy sessions to organize and empower our communities.

As we look towards the future and the difficult times ahead of us, we must turn our voices and votes into positive results. It is for this reason that the theme of our conference this year is “Organize, Mobilize, Resist: 45 Years of Building Latino Workers Power”. As Latino Leaders we all have something to say and it is time for our representatives to listen.  This is your opportunity to advance the Latino agenda for better jobs, better pay, equality, workers’ rights, civil rights  and a better quality of life in America.

Please SAVE THE DATE: September 6 and 7, 2017 in Washington, D.C. Make sure to visit our website for more information and follow @lclaa and #LCLAA45 on twitter for updates.

Thank you for your continued work and support, at a time when our mission is more urgent than ever. I am enormously proud of the legacy we have built together, and excited to move forward together, boldly and without fear, into a better future.

I hope that you will join us for this important event and we look forward to seeing you in Washington, D.C.

In Solidarity,
