Announcing the Creation of the LCLAA Sí Podemos Fund

Press Release
19 December 2020

The LCLAA Sí Podemos Fund was created out of the need to expand our nation’s electorate, promote Latino and immigrant workers’ rights, and advance policies that can guarantee the advancement and well being of our communities. We find this endeavor to be critical for the future of Latino and immigrant working families, particularly in the wake of the political climate and polarization that our nation faces.

The LCLAA Sí Podemos Fund will be the leading national 501(c)(4) organization for Latino workers and their families, focused on expanding the political power of this segment of our nation’s population. The Sí Podemos Fund will seek to accomplish its goals through civic engagement, voter registration, citizenship programs, education, advocacy, as well as campaigns and research.

The Sí Podemos Fund will be determined to advance economic, social, gender, and racial justice, and to create leadership opportunities so that these communities can fully partake in the decision-making process that affects them. We believe that a more inclusive and fair society for all is possible!

“The only way we can truly impact our lives, and that of future generations, is through coming together through values that unite us and upholding justice and equality for all,” said Sonia Vazquez Luna, Si Podemos Fund Chairwoman. “LCLAA Sí Podemos Fund will serve as our vehicle towards change. I believe that through the support, passion, and commitment of our board, members, and allies we will succeed in many battles that lie ahead.”

“The LCLAA Sí Podemos Fund will undoubtedly play a critical role in impacting the lives of scores of Latino and immigrant working families across the country,” said Yanira Merino, LCLAA National President. “I am proud and excited about this endeavor because strengthening the voice of our communities and ensuring their engagement in our nation’s political processes will guarantee a more prosperous future that we can all be proud of.”
