Mission Statement
The Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) Student Alliance is dedicated to promoting social justice and economic equality for Latinx workers in the United States. By establishing student chapters on college campuses nationwide, we empower students to become advocates for the Latine community, fostering leadership, education, and political engagement. Our mission is to provide college students with opportunities for professional development, access to critical educational resources, and the skills needed to champion policies that benefit Latine workers and their families. Through our affiliated chapters, we aim to cultivate a new generation of informed, motivated, and socially conscious leaders committed to the principles of equality and justice.
bENEFITS OF DEVELOPING A LCLAA STUDENT ALLIANCE
Promoting Social Justice: LCLAA advocates for social justice and economic equality for Latine workers in the United States. By creating student chapters, college students can learn about the issues facing Latine workers and become advocates for social justice in their communities.
Professional Development: LCLAA provides opportunities for members to develop leadership skills, network with other professionals in their field, and gain hands-on experience in community organizing and advocacy. College students can gain valuable experience and build their resumes by joining a student chapter.
Educational Opportunities: LCLAA offers educational resources and workshops on issues affecting Latine workers, such as immigration policy, labor laws, and workplace safety. By creating student chapters, college students can access these resources and learn more about these critical issues.
Political Engagement: LCLAA advocates for policies that benefit Latine workers and their families. By creating student chapters, college students can engage in political advocacy and learn how to make their voices heard on issues that matter to them.
