2025 National membership Convention
Dear LCLAA Members and Partners,
We are thrilled to announce that the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) will host its 25th National Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, from July 28 to August 3, 2025. This year’s theme, "United We Stand: Construyendo Puentes, Rompiendo Barreras y Protegiendo Nuestro Legado," reflects the critical moment we find ourselves in as a community and as a movement.
The 2025 National Convention comes at a time when immigrant communities and communities of color face unprecedented challenges. From the corridors of power in Washington, D.C., to the shop floors and fields across this nation, we have already seen the devastating impact of an administration bent on undermining the rights and dignity of workers, particularly Latinos and other marginalized groups. These attacks are not just an assault on one community; they are an affront to all communities of color and working-class families.
As we gather in Atlanta—a city steeped in history, resilience, and the spirit of civil rights—we do so with a deep sense of urgency and responsibility. We must stand resolute in the face of fear and adversity. We must be the voice that speaks truth to power, the hand that lifts others, and the heart that fuels collective action.
The challenges we face demand a united response. Together, we will:
Defend Workers’ Rights: Advocate for policies that protect and empower workers, ensuring their rights are respected in every industry and workplace.
Protect Immigrant Communities: Act as a source of support and information, working to safeguard immigrants' lives nationwide
Advance Equity and Justice: Push back against systemic racism and xenophobia, standing in solidarity with all communities of color.
Empower Latino Leadership: Elevate the next generation of leaders who will carry the torch of progress and justice forward.
This convention will not only highlight the pressing issues of our time but also provide a platform for actionable solutions. Workshops, panels, and strategy sessions will equip attendees with the tools and knowledge needed to effect real change. Most importantly, it will be a space where we reaffirm our shared commitment to building a future that is resilient, united, and unstoppable.
Join us in Atlanta as we rise to meet this moment. Let us stand together to protect the rights, dignity, and futures of all workers and their families.
In Solidarity,
Evelyn DeJesus, LCLAA National President
