While the labor movement has made important strides to integrate Latinos/as into its organizing strategies and has expanded the number of Latino/a workers in unions, much work remains to ensure Latinos/as can prosper and achieve parity in the workplace and our country. The future of the U.S. is undoubtedly tied with the Latino/a community. Latinos/as are the fastest growing population in the United States. By 2060, Latinos/as will comprise nearly 38% of the total U.S. population.

Decades of failed policy and structural forces like climate and geography have combined to make Puerto Rico’s recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic difficult. In this report, LCLAA establishes recommendations for a new political and labor movement approach to Puerto Rico.
