LCLAA Launches “Show the Love” Campaign to Stand in Solidarity with Starbucks Workers United
Washington, DC - LCLAA is proud to launch our “Show the Love” Campaign to show our solidarity for Starbucks workers as they continue to face intense union-busting. From Valentine’s Day to the end of this month LCLAA members and allies nationwide are visiting Starbucks stores, holding rallies, and handing baristas and patrons informational postcards about the power of the union difference.
To launch and kick off our campaign LCLAA will be hosting a Twitterstorm on Valentines’ Day at 2 pm EST / 11 am PST with the hashtags #LaborOfLove and #SBWU to show our support. LCLAA encourages all of our labor family to join us in the Twitterstorm and the campaign to spread awareness, to stand in solidarity with Starbucks Workers United, and to show union-busters the power and size of the labor movement. Jose Vargas, Executive Director of the Labor Council for the Latin American Advancement on the start of the campaign, “LCLAA’s campaign, driven by our chapters throughout the country, is simply us doing our part to stand up to union-busters. We need to remind corporations in this country that when they threaten the rights of their workers, they have to face the entire labor movement as consequence.”
