LCLAA Congratulates Sonia Vasquez Luna on her Election to the Manassas City Council

LCLAA is pleased to learn about the Manassas City Council election results. We congratulate LCLAA’s National Executive Board Member Sonia Vasquez Luna on her election to the Manassas City Council. 

Sonia’s community-focused campaign calls for changes needed to improve life in Manassas city. She understands what still has to be accomplished and the larger importance of her voice.

Despite being over a third Latino, Sonia will be the first Latina on the City Council in Manassas’s history. As a Latina and Union Member, Sonia brings a focus of Latino and worker empowerment to Manassas City politics which has been much needed. 

We look forward to seeing Sonia’s continued community service and her work to provide pathways for more open communication between the Council and its constituents, to increase investment in infrastructure projects, and to expand public transportation in Manassas city.
