LCLAA Celebrates National Latino Heritage Month, Honoring Latino Labor Contributions

Washington, DC — As we embark on National Latino Heritage Month, the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) is proud to join in the celebration of the rich and diverse culture, history, and contributions of Latino communities across the United States. 

Latino/a workers and undocumented workers have been a cornerstone of the American workforce for generations. Their dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment have helped build the foundation of our economy and strengthen our unions. Whether it's in agriculture, healthcare, construction, hospitality, or countless other industries, Latinos/as continue to be vital contributors, often in roles that are essential to our daily lives.

However, Latino/a and immigrant workers continue to face unique challenges and disparities, including wage gaps, workplace discrimination, and unsafe working conditions. LCLAA remains committed to advocating for the rights and well-being of Latino/a workers, striving for fair contracts, immigration reform, and safe workplaces for all. In this endeavor, LCLAA is firm in its dedication to bolster and empower Latino civic engagement to uplift our communities and urge policymakers to address the ongoing challenges faced by Latinos/as. 

During National Latino Heritage Month, we encourage everyone to show solidarity with unions that are striking, to engage and support Latino businesses, and to reflect on the importance of equity and inclusion in our workplaces and society at large. Together, we can create a future where every Latino/a worker is treated with dignity and respect, and where their contributions are fully acknowledged and valued.
