LCLAA Saddened by the Passing of Florida AFL-CIO President Mike Williams
Washington, DC - LCLAA is saddened to learn of the passing of Mike Williams, President of the Florida AFL-CIO. Williams was not only a cherished friend but also a devoted ally and a strong champion of workers’ rights. For fifteen years, Williams dedicated himself to the Florida AFL-CIO, tirelessly representing and fighting so the union difference could be a reality for all Floridians. Under his influential leadership, the Florida AFL-CIO expanded its legislative and political advocacy initiatives to call for a living wage, healthcare, and retirement benefits for all workers.
Mike Williams began his career working as an apprentice as a construction electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
