LCLAA  Receives Prestigious LIFT Fund Award to Empower Immigrant Workers in the Hyundai Supply Chain in Georgia and Alabama

Washington, D.C. - LCLAA is thrilled to announce that we have been selected as a recipient of the LIFT Fund award. The LIFT Fund, which stands for Labor Innovations for the 21st Century, has initiated this round to support transformative partnerships that amplify worker power and foster economic equity, thriving families, and stronger communities nationally.

The LIFT Fund extends multi-year grants to collaborations between labor unions, councils or federations, and worker centers. These grants aim to catalyze collective efforts to build worker power across diverse industries, and we are honored to be among the organizations chosen to receive this esteemed award.

LCLAA’s National President, Evelyn DeJesus, expressed excitement about the opportunity: "This LIFT Fund award is a testament to LCLAA’s dedication to advancing the cause of economic equity and worker empowerment. We are eager to embark on this transformative journey, working with immigrant workers in the Hyundai supply chain. We aim to build a resilient and empowered voice within these communities through strategic partnerships and community engagement."

The focus of our award is to strengthen and forge partnerships with immigrant workers within the Hyundai supply chain in Alabama and Georgia. Over the next three years, we are committed to utilizing this funding to uplift standards and create quality employment opportunities in these communities. By fostering collaboration and amplifying the voices of immigrant workers, we aspire to contribute to the broader goal of enhancing economic conditions, nurturing thriving families, and fortifying communities nationwide.

LCLAA extends gratitude to the LIFT Fund for recognizing the significance of our proposed initiative and providing the means to bring this vision to fruition. This award catalyzes positive change, and we are honored to be part of the LIFT Fund's mission to create a lasting impact on workers' lives across the nation.
